​His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam awarded the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Sultan's Scholar for the 2025/2026 academic session to five outstanding students. The ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman, 4th September afternoon. Also present were His Majesty's sons, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik, Chairman of the Yayasan Committee of Governors; and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

The Surah Al-Fatihah was recited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti. His Majesty awarded the Sultan's Scholar scholarship to 5 students who will further their studies to Bachelor's Degree. The first recipient was Awangku Muhammad Eljaz Mateen bin Pengiran Muhammad Khairul Nizam from Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College. He will pursue his studies in Physics at the University College London, United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Awang Ahmad Danish Hakimi bin Shufiady from International School Brunei will further his studies at the University of Melbourne, Australia in the Bachelor of Science - Major in Mathematics and Statistics.

The third recipient, Awang Muhammad Saedon bin Haji Sahralidin from Jerudong International School will pursue the Bachelor in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics at Trinity College Dublin, University of Dublin, Republic of Ireland.

Whereas Awang Muhammad Mughni bin Haji Mohd Salleh from the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Qur'an Institute will further his studies at Al-Azhar University, Arab Republic of Egypt, in Takhassus Al-Qur'an Wal Qiraat.

The final recipient, Dayang Dayana binti Adi Rani Soffian from Sekolah Tinggi Arab Hassanal Bolkiah will also further her studies to the Al-Azhar University, Arab Republic of Egypt in Syariah Islamiyyah. Doa Selamat was read by the State Mufti. Since 2006, 73 students have received the prestigious scholarship award.
